The scientific name for the Derasa Clam is Tridacna derasa. It is also known as the Southern Giant Clam or Smooth Giant Clam.

It is a very conspicuous clam, as seen from the photo. It has a stripped or wavy line mantle pattern with colors like orange, yellow, black, blue and white.
